So there I was in that legendary blues town

I went to all the hot night spots; they’ve got some spicy ribs & tasty bands
I never once thought about Elvis; I just came to escape, but no one understands
I don’t care much for jazz, but I can dig those blues when I ain’t in no mood for rock & roll
But that girl still flutters through my mind, just like these flakes of snow
