It’s Snowing In Memphis c2011 by Kenny Hines
They play the blues in Memphis; well that ain’t news to me
So I headed right on down there, ‘cause that was where I wanted to be
It’s the same old story; my baby put me down
So there I was in that legendary blues town
*(But then) it started snowing in Memphis, while I was still ignorin’ the rain
When your love is done, and you got no one, they say the blues can help you deal with the pain
But tonight it’s even snowin’ in Memphis, in this old southern town
Just like frozen tears that fall without a sound
I went to all the hot night spots; they’ve got some spicy ribs & tasty bands
I never once thought about Elvis; I just came to escape, but no one understands
I don’t care much for jazz, but I can dig those blues when I ain’t in no mood for rock & roll
But that girl still flutters through my mind, just like these flakes of snow
*(Chorus)
guitar
{Bridge}: I can’t explain this to anyone, and nobody could explain
it to me
But there’s something ‘bout snow in Memphis, that makes it seem like I’ll never be free
*It’s snowing in Memphis, and I was still ignorin’ the rain
When your love is done, and you got no one, they say the blues can help you deal with the pain
But tonight it’s even snowin’ in Memphis, in this old southern town
Just like frozen tears that fall without a sound
